Well here we are again talking about Madonna... To many of you this is boring and to me tiring, but it's something I want to share...Each Madonna song is like a picture or a tattoo... They each represent a special part of my life and now we are in the decade of the 2000's... By the way what do you call this decade? The 00's, The 2000's, the y2k's or the Naughties? LOL whatever you call it it's the first decade of the 21st century and yes I am still a Madonna fan!!
Well for someone who never quits working like Madonna... This decade started out with a new movie and a new soundtrack!! "The Next Best Thing" Soundtrack was released in February 2000 with the Top 10 smash hit 'American Pie'.
Madonna got bad reviews for this movie, but my fucking God, I think she did an Amazing job playing Abbie Reynolds. Personally, this movie is up there with Evita, Who's That Girl and Desterately Seeking Susan... and God Rupert Evertt is a hot cake...anyways Madonna's performance blew me away... she did an amazing job playing a friend, mother, wife, and girlfriend... I swear some of these critics need panned...
Anyways, this point it my life I was just fired at a local service station...big fucking deal and took the job at a bookstore becoming manager not too long afterward...Actually these next 3 year would be the best of my life career wise...
By Summer 2000, Madonna's 11th, CD "Music" leaked out onto the net, and I won't lie, I copied the whole cd and listend to it, but I bought 5 copies because I may be a lot of things, but I am not a thief... And since Madonna is my idol...I wante my friends to have copies too... so don't get your panties in a wad Madonna just because someone does get your music early... a true fan always buys them... for reasons you probably wouldn't understand!!
Personally, I think Music topped Ray of Light, but it still wasn't my favourite...I just think she should have released more singles... 3 tiny singles just weren't enough... The Title track "Music" and "Don't Tell Me" were awesome, but I think "Impressive Instant", "I Deserve It", "Gone", and "Nobodoy's Perfect" all had shots at becoming singles... maybe in the wake of 9/11 and her wrapping up the Drowned World Tour and the record comppany wanting her to release Amazing, a song which I didnt like too much killed the mood, but anyways the Record was completely great...
By 2001, I was in the middle of my job(Best job ever, best boss ever) And Madonna released her 2nd Greatest Hits Collection... I think Madonna made her first bad decision in many years...she should have included 2 new hits on it...like with TIC... it would have done 100% better sold more copies and even if she would have just released one song... but no, she just released the single versions, but anyways I bought 18 copies and gave them out as XMAS gifts...so that put a little money in her piggy bank..lol
GHV2, wasn't entirely bad...i mean it did have 15 of her best hits minus American Pie, I'll Remember, You'll See, and This Used to Be my Playground, but oh well.. but she could have but some newbies on there...like Liquid Love or Your Honesty... But all we got was GHV2 Megamix...maybe because she was filming Swept Away
Well, 2003 was a year, a bad year, just broke up w/ dick head and I was alone, and lost a good job, but American Life came out and I have to say this, American Life is one of my favuorie Reocrds...every song could have been a single... I think she had 7 in all including that song w/ Britney Me against the Music which forutnately wan't on there... "Die Another Day", "American Life", "Hollywood", "Nothing Fails", "Knowbody Knows Me", "Love Profusion", and "Mother and Father".. all these songs were superb, but Americans had to give her hell because they support a Monstor named George W Bushit...I mean Bush...LOL That mean gives me the willies... I have disliked him since 2001... but What do I know...
After "American Life" staggered out Madonna went back to her roots and released an all dance albume called "Confessions On A Dance Floor"
This record was released in November 2005 and spawned 4 hit singles, the worldwide Number 1 "Hung Up", the Number 1 "Sorry" and 2 other top 10 smashes in other countries "Get Together" and "Jump"... American Radio still has a problem with Madonna since she opposes President Bush.. Which most people do that have a brain... and She is still continuing to work... Her last 2 Projects were live CD's... 2006's "I'm Going to Tell you a Secret" and 2007's "The Confessions Tour Live"
So it's almost the end of the 2000's so what's next for Mrs. Ritchie? Well supposedly by the end of the year her new cd will be out... she is still debating what to call the CD...And I am sure it will kick ass...so get ready for at least 5-7 more singles that will rock the rest of the decade... Her current single is "Hey You" a song written by Madonna and Pharrell Williams and has already reached the top 30... All I can say is Madonna is the hardest working woman in the world... She has been at it since the late 1970s when she was in a drummer for a band called the Breakfast Club... So her 12th Studio Album will be a mix of dance, hip-hop, ballads, and upper tempo...so hold your patience and let's see if this will be her biggest CD of this decade...Right now my 5 favourite Madonna records are 1. Like A Prayer, 2. Erotica, 3. Ray of Light, 4. American Life, and 5. Confessions on A Dance Floor!! She has changed my life!!
